Meredith Stevenson asked her parents for a dog and they said "won't a dog be a mess?" So Meredith answered "Yes, but I'll be able to handle it!" So they asked "well, what kind of dog do you want? We suggest an Eskimo Spitz!" "But, then what would I name it? I want a male Dalmatian." "But, then what would you name him?" "Spot! because all Dalmatians are covered in spots." "Well, why do you want him?" "To keep me occupied. We could play fetch!" "What's fetch?" "A game where you throw a ball and than the dog runs up to catch it and I can write that as an explanation." "An explanation for what?" "My composition for school. We have to write what we want and I'll use Arial for a font! And than I'll write what I don't want." "Well, what's that?" "A cat." "Why?" "Because I want to go play outside, and cats usually spend their time inside." "What would you do with your dog?" "Play fetch, a game where I throw the ball and then the dog jumps up so he can catch." The next day, when Meredith is at school: "Now that the weekends over I want to know what you all did?" "I played in the snow." "O.k. Jenna, so Meredith what did you do?" "I got a dog!" Than a boy named Jake shouts out "Me too!" "What are your dogs names?" "Mine is named Spot." Then Jake goes "and mine is named Bott!" "Why did you name them those names?" "I named my dog Spot because he's a Dalmatian." "Jake why did you name your dog Bott?" "I named him Bott because I found him by a bottle see, he was a stray." "What kind of dog is Bott?" "He's a black lab!" "Meredith, what kind of dog is Spot?" "I told you already! He's a Dalmatian! What happened to your train of thought?" "I'm sorry, I wasn't paying any attention." Her friend whispers to her "well, then she should join some helpful organization!" Then she whispers back "but, she's the teacher, I'm sure she was but she lost her train of thought." When Meredith got home: Her mom asks her "so what would you like to do?" She answers "I want to go to my friend Shannon's house." "And do what?" "We'll look in the yearbook to find me a spouse." "But, you're only 12!" "Well, my birthday's the day after tomorrow!" "Oh, yeah! That's right well, why do you want a date?" "Because I want someone that is full of might!" "But, you should look on the inside, it doesn't matter what's on the outside!" "Well, I already have a choice, someone that's really strong, handsome but, he's also very, very nice!" "What's his name?" "Luke." "What's his last?" "He' s Luke Sluke." "O.k., please bring him by." "O.k., I will invite him over, or at least I'll try!" Meredith is inviting Luke over: "So Luke, how would you like to come over?" "To do what?" "How would you like to play fetch with my dog Spot?" "O.K., I'll also bring over my dog Rover." "O.K., we'll play fetch with both dogs!" "Good idea, with what ball? "Don't you have any ball?" "No, I don't have one at all!" "Than what is your dog doing all the time?" "I just take my dog for a walk!" "O.K., how would you like you like to come over for a walk?" "Then what would we do?" "We'll just have a talk!" "About what?" "We'll eventually think of something! How about we just have a chat by the spring?" "Where?" "By the hospital called We Care!" They went inside "We Care" "So, who would you like to visit?" "No one unparticular, we just would like to show everybody that they have someone who cares!" "O.K., B12 is free." "Who's in there?" "A boy named Matt, he just came in this morning." "What's wrong?" "He has some limbs missing." "Alright, I'll go home and write him a song! About how he has someone that cares for him." Meredith's working on her song Matt, I'm so sorry I have a dog named Spot and if you'd like to come over you're welcome too and you could also play with Rover. Her mother comes by. "No, don't say that." "Why not?" "He'll feel worse if he can't!" "Oh, I didn't know!" "But, at school you're on the honor roll. Now this Christmas you'll probably get Cole." She's working on her song of apologies: Matt, I'm so sorry, you see, I originally wrote how you would like to be. Then her mom comes by "no, don't say that either." "Why not?" "Because it will make him feel worse if he doesn't get better. Now go in the corner and sit still." Meredith's in the corner working not on a poem, but a letter. Matt, I have high hopes that you get better. Her mom comes by "now that's more like it, now he'll know that someone actually cares for him!" She's working on writing him a letter: Dear Matt, So how are you? I have high hopes that you get better so than you can come over so we can play with my dog Spot and Luke's dog, Rover. My name's Meredith Stevenson, and you're really very handsome. I'll just write him a poem because what I'm thinking rhymes: Hello Matt, my names Meredith Stevenson, I think you're very, very handsome. You're so handsome that if I took your picture to school I bet over you all of the girls will drool!!! How would you like me to put your picture on the web? No, if I did I'd bet you'd get lots of phone calls from a lot of different girls. Wait, they won't know where you live. Oh shoot, I just realized that because I'll write where you live they'll look on the web. Matt gets better so he goes home and he's reading Meredith's letter: His mother asks "can I read it?" "Sure, no I'll read to you." "That was so nice, how about you write her a letter to thank her!" "O.K., I'll go work on it now." Matt goes to his room and he's working on writing Meredith a letter: Dear Meredith, Thanks, I'm really glad someone cares about me besides my parent's, I'll give you an example "you". None of my friends visited or wrote me a letter; they didn't even come by. I would like to get to meet you in person; at least I'll try. What nationality are you? If you say American I'd say me too. I don't have anything else to say, besides asking you weather you'd like to go see the "Romeo and Juliet" play? So how would you like to go see it with me? Sincerely, Matt Meredith's writing him back: Dear Matt, I'd become so thrilled to come to see the "Romeo and Juliet" play with you!!! Just tell me on what day you would like to see it and I'll make arrangements to come and be with you than we'll find something that we'd both like to do. Love, Meredith Dear Meredith, Hooray!!! I'm so happy and proud wait, maybe I won't be allowed. I think I will be able to come and see it with you. I'll go and ask my parents now. Wow, they said yes, who do you think will drive us? Love, Meredith They're at the Play "Lets go look at who's playing Romeo and who's playing Juliet?" "O.K." "Excuse me, we'd like a pamphlet of the main characters." "Here you go." "Thanks." "Romeo's is being played by Luke Matthews and Juliet's being played by Kelly Glarys. They're congratulating the characters Meredith says, "Luke, you're so handsome, and you did such a good job of playing Romeo!" "Thanks so much!" Matt says "Kelly, you where so Marvelous, I enjoyed the play a whole lot!" Kelly and Luke say "Thanks so much, we're thanking you a whole bunch!" They're outside waiting for Meredith's parents "So, when do you think your parents are stopping by to pick us up?" "Matt, I don't know, I think around 11:30." "Let's just go sit on the curb and wait." "O.k" They're getting held up. A thief goes up to them with a sharp knife and goes "give me all your money." Matt goes "no!" Than the thief pokes him with a knife and goes "give it to me now or you'll be sorry." Matt than gets so angry and quickly lifts up his right arm and punches him in the face while a little boy is riding by and then the little boy starts cry- ing and runs home to get his father who is a cop. So quickly he gets him and his father points his gun at the thief and shouts out "stop." Some woman quickly runs into a store, gets on phone and calls "We're Armed!" She screams out "HELP!" They asked, "What's the problem?" And she quickly says, "Some man is here with a gun!" "O.k., we'll be right there." She was so happy that they came. The News "Hi, this is Stephanie Wilson." "And I'm Hugh Downs, we have a heart-breaking story for you. It's about how a robbery occurred last night and how we're so proud of Meredith Stevenson for handling it so well." "She handled it even though she was going through complete hell." Chapters left over from an earlier draft: While Shannon and Meredith where there they met a girl named Leah and quickly became her friend. Leah told them about her older brother "Sean" and one day they both went to meet him. Meredith had a crush on Sean and after about a month they got paired up. One day they couldn't think of anything to do and an idea popped into Meredith's head "fetch". They went to Meredith's house but, couldn't play there because Meredith had a pool so than they went to Sean's house. They played fetch with a Frisbee, Spot leaped high and caught the Frisbee in mid air. Sean was invited over to a friends house for a sleep over and while he was there he was dared to kiss Tim's (his friend) sister, Monica and he didn't because he was going out with Meredith. Sean abandoned Tim because he was pushing him in the wrong direction. Now all the kids at school where picking on Sean because he wouldn't kiss Monica so Sean made new friends with the boys that where considered dorks. Eventually Sean straightened them out and it wasn't long before they all switched places. When Meredith was about twenty Sean asked her to marry him and she quickly replied "yes". When he was twenty-seven and Meredith was twenty-five they had triplets, two of them where girls and the other one was a boy. They named him Steven and the girls Emily and Patricia. They sent them all to a day care called "When you where little". Emily and Patricia where playing with Barbi dolls, Emily was Barbi and Patricia was Skipper. While they were doing that Steven was playing with Hot Wheels. He made a friend named Eric and they had a race with Hot Wheels. Emily and Patricia sent Barbi and Skipper on a camp out and Ken grilled for them. As they got older: Than they started school at "Jeffrey road elementary". They each were seven years old and in second grade. Their teacher was Mrs. Bloomingdale, first they started with two digit math like adding:
